    The Product Support Engineer


    is responsible for investigating, developing, creating, and/or executing Value Add and Value Engineering (VAVE) projects as part of the Product Support Engineering team.


    Responsibilities :
    Investigates and implements Value-Add engineering activities and cost savings initiatives.
    Works closely with Operations and Quality Assurance to improve product designs/processes and resolve customer issues.
    Partners with Purchasing team on approving new sources of supply and alternate designs.
    Develops designs, in partnership with New Product Development (NPD), to improve existing products by applying engineering principles.
    Conceptualizes designs and analyzes/selects materials and processes.
    Performs component and process cost analysis.
    Provides production support through Temporary Process Change (TPC) and deviations.
    Creates test plans, in collaboration with Chief/Senior Engineer, and coordinates testing of components / products.
    Evaluates test results and determines/coordinates appropriate engineering action with guidance from the Chief/Senior Engineer.
    Hosts collaborative team meetings and design reviews.
    Proactively audits engineering documentation to finished product.
    Individually and collaboratively performs project work.
    Researches applicable industry and government standards.
    Reviews drawings and FMEAs.


    Job Requirements:
    B.S. Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering Technology or equivalent education
    2+ years of experience is required.
    Sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles with practical, hands-on approach to analysis and problem solving.
    Proficient in standard business-related computer software such as Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
    Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, manages workload effectively.
    Plan, prioritize and manage numerous multi-functional engineering projects, concurrently.
    Ability to prepare and present technical solutions to meet customers requirements.
    Must be a problem solver and able to come up with innovative solutions to real world problems.
    Experience in reading prints and geometric dimensions.
    Knowledge of and interest in Design for Manufacturability (high-volume, low-cost manufacturing).
    Experience with Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) is a plus.
    Experience in sheet metal, injection molding, machining, stamping, welding, material handling, packaging and coatings is a plus.
    Experience in root cause analysis and fast paced, customer focused manufacturing environment is a plus.
