Music Director Position
Calverton Baptist Church is seeking a part-time Music Director. The position requires an experienced, gifted leader who enjoys leading, directing and providing choral ministry and congregational direction.

It includes rehearsing and directing the Choir/Praise team for Sunday morning worship services and other seasonal celebrations (i.e., Easter, Christmas).

Education and Experience Required:

• A history of involvement in choral direction and congregational song leader.
• Experience with church worship arts in theory, history and practice

Skill Sets Expected:

• Able to direct Godcentered worship by the congregation by providing and directing a consistently excellent and inspiring choral ministry
• Skilled in organizational planning, budgeting, management and interpersonal communication
• Ability to play piano not required but preferred

Duties and responsibilities:

• Plan and lead any and all choral ministry selections on Sunday mornings around the weekly message topic.
• Conduct weekly rehearsals of the Choir in preparation for Sunday worship and seasonal observances.
• Meet and work with a Worship Planning Team occasionally.
• Recruit new members to the Choir.
• Help to plan and implement seasonal music and worship programming, particularly as related to the choral needs, including guest musicians, for the Christmas and Easter seasons.
• Help to prepare and manage the choral aspects of an annually approved Worship Ministry Team budget.
• Maintain and improve the scope and quality of the choral music library and be responsible for the choir's appearance, sound and delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor and the Worship Planning Team.
