Position Summary:
Primarily responsible coordination of all new patient in-coming referrals. Answers phones and schedules new patient appointments.
Supervisor:
Patient Scheduling Lead
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating charts for new patient referrals. Includes sorting,prioritizing, and organizing new referral requests.
- Creating a new patient chart in our electronic medical records (EMR)
- Enter insurance information into the patient chart and scan necessary documents to add to the chart
- Responsible for sending out all new patient documents and portal enrollments for new patients.
- Responsible for backup responsibilities of the support team; checkin, checkout, incoming calls if needed.
General:
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Presents a polite and courteous manner to the patients at all times, and be willing to meet the patient's needs.
- Participate in compliance of OSHA/HIPPA/OIG regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Normal hourssee schedule, onehalf hour lunch
Job Requirements:
- High school education or G.E.D. equivalent. Completion of twoyear course for a Medical Assistant at the junior college level would be an advantage.
- Possess a knowledge of modern office procedures and office equipment, and medical terminology.
- Typing ability must be at least 60 wpm

- Monday to Friday

Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
Ability to Relocate:
- South Portland, ME: Relocate before starting work (preferred)
