JapanLA is a retail, online and livestream shopping store specializing in Japanese and Japanese-inspired kawaii character goods including Sanrio (Hello Kitty), San-X, Pusheen, and more.

We are hiring a Warehouse Inventory Specialist responsible for the receiving of merchandise into the JapanLA store system, ensuring that the products are inspected for quality control, counted accurately, sorted, put away, staged, and stocked on the warehouse shelves, prepared, and merchandised in the front of house.

• Receiving & product inspection. Unpacks, accurately counts, and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and identifies discrepancies on packing list to rectify damages and shortages.
• Consistently organizes and maintains warehouse and inventory areas for efficient material storage and handling.
• Maintains digital and physical labeling system on each stock item, manually stocks inventory shelving with stock items received or returned.
• Supports the Shipping Team by consistently putting new product on the shelves, organizing and maintaining these shelves for maximum efficiency, and restocking low inventory items from back and up stock.
• Supports the shipping team by maintaining the shipping and receiving area by breaking down/removing boxes/trash from all types of shipments
• Preps and packages products so they are ready for the shipping team to pull and ship quickly.
• Works with the Buying Team to monitor shipping notices and other records to determine receiving priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
• Works with the Buying Team to arrange shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items, with staff on hand to immediate process those shipments upon arrival.
• Works with the Livestream Team to manage inventory discrepancies, blind box transfers, capsule full sets, "last ones," damages, assists in getting product during livestream shows as needed.
• Works with Front of House Retail Team to locate, pull, and restock front of house retail floor as needed, during regular store hours and events.
• Makes sure shipments and shipping supplies/boxes are removed from the front showroom in a timely manner and organized in the back.
• Assists Merchandiser by making sure front of house is stocked with all products requested.
• Assists Merchandiser with floor moves and merchandising.
• Puts away "go backs" merchandise not needed on the floor, including samples from upstairs offices.
• Assists during inperson shopping days by bringing requested stock to front, cashier, and other duties as assigned.
• General warehouse cleaning duties.
• Crosstrains in all service areas and performs other duties as assigned.
• Accurately processes the receipt of incoming merchandise.
• Represents the company and provides support as needed at various trade shows, fan conventions, livestreams, and other company events.
• Other duties as necessary from time to time.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong proficiency in desktop computer operation computer literate with experience using Microsoft office suite of products (Excel, Word, etc)
• Experience with retail & inventory management programs, including Shopify.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Driven, collaborative, team player motivated to take responsibility, support colleagues, and ensure successful outcomes
• Excellent ability to prioritize assignments and ability to pivot and adjust quickly to schedule changes and creative direction.
• Exceptional sense of urgency, with strong aptitude for learning and problemsolving
