Established in 2001, T. L. Jackson Construction Inc. provides crane rental, trucking, and rigging services primarily targeting construction and industrial business sectors.

General Construction Services is a licensed, insured, and bonded contractor based in York County, PA, predominantly serving customers in PA and MD.

GCS specializes in residential construction, including post frame buildings, garages, additions, and modular homes, as well as light commercial excavation and construction.

Position Summary:


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage the daily activities of operations, including Dispatch/Customer Service, Scheduling, Field Team Execution, Maintenance, Logistics, and Compliance to ensure customer satisfaction and timely, profitable job delivery.
  • Establish and implement formal operational procedures for job execution and problem resolution. Support the Project Manager and supervisory leads by working collaborative to address issues and facilitate project completion.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers, in conjunction with Leads and Project Managers, so that all necessary materials and/or equipment are readily available to Teams when needed and that efficient operations are sustained.
  • Act as coach and/or mentor for supervisors and field employees. Foster a culture that promotes an ownership mentality working within a team environment. Resolve minor employee issues or conflicts.
  • Evaluate work processes to ensure they are compliant with Federal and state laws and regulations. Establish and constantly monitor safe work practices and related compliance.
  • Develop and implement an operational maintenance plan, inclusive of management of preventative maintenance frequency, job plan specifications, and maintenance procedures.
  • Communicate results and plans on a regular basis to the President.
  • Perform all other duties as necessary and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):

  • High School diploma or equivalent necessary; higher education or vocational certification helpful but not required.
  • Prior supervisory background or knowledge.
  • Ability to view differing situations from several perspectives using deductive and/or inductive reasoning.
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to motivate others to perform work safely, efficiently, and with consideration of environment and materials to minimize waste and maximize resources.
  • Aptness to make judgement calls, problemsolve, or act with limited information.
  • Intermediate use of Google and a Windowsbased computer system, including various software such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Skill to manage multiple projects, people, job sites, and resources simultaneously.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

This is physical, hands-on work.

The Operations Manager must be able to perform General Physical Activities — activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials up to 50 pounds.

He/she must be willing and able to work in non-temperature-controlled environments, outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, and over uneven ground or terrain.

Tolerance for frequent work sitting at a computer with use of a keyboard/mouse is a must, as is frequent use of senses involving sight, sound, speech, or touch.
