POSITION - Union: Equipment Operator (CNG-Meadow) (R-05721)

NUMBER OF POSITIONS - 1

LOCATION - CNG-CT-MEADOW

Responsibilities_
Must learn operating routine of all earthmoving equipment used by the Company and must be capable of obtaining entrylevel operating proficiency within three months.
Is responsible for minor repairs and general maintenance of earthmoving equipment, including greasing, oiling, refueling, and assisting with other major repairs, as required.
Performs work of other classifications when not operating earthmoving equipment.
Learns and assists in duties of higher classifications as to qualify for promotion.
Works in field at times without direct supervision.
May involve handling hazardous waste. Training will be provided by the Company to meet requirements of 40 CFR

- _Any applicant transferring into the department or filling this position from the outside will be required to provide after-hours and weekend emergency coverage on a rotating basis (on-call coverage)._

THIS IS A DOT SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION. ANY APPLICANT TRANSFERRING INTO THIS DEPARTMENT FROM A NON-SAFETYSENSITIVE POSITION WILL BE REQUIRED TO PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREEN.
Skills and Requirements_
Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Must have elementary knowledge of gasoline and diesel motors and automotive equipment.
Must have some experience in operation and repair of construction & automotive equipment.
Must have a good degree of mechanical ability and knowledge of earthmoving equipment.
Must have a CDL B license and possess a good driving record.
Must have the aptitude and skill to operate all Distribution Division equipment and tools in a safe and fully satisfactory manner.
Must have knowledge of the layout of the streets within the territory served by the Company.
Must be able to perform the duties of other classifications and to assist crew when not operating earthmoving equipment.
