Position Summary:


This position plays a key role in the daily functions within the Human Resources Department and will have responsibility for key areas of assignments and cross-functionally train to provide support across the department including, but not limited to; recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leave of absences, and payroll.

The HR Generalist will serve as the backup to the Director.


Essential Functions:


  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and adheres to company policies, best practices, operating procedures and assists HR Director in reviewing and updating for compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and modern technologies in human resources, talent management, payroll, and employment laws.
  • Support a valuesdriven environment through consultation and service regarding employee engagement activities.
  • Manages and reviews compliance with affirmative action policies and reporting requirements.
  • Evaluates and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion programs throughout the organization.
  • Prepares and submits required compliance reports and filings including, but not limited to EEO1, EPRC, 5500's.
  • Evaluates HRIS system setup, and utilization to ensure the platform is appropriately used to fullest capacity.
  • Audits internal record keeping systems and platforms, including HRIS, to ensure data is accurate and updated.
  • Attends and participates in employee discussions regarding corrective actions, investigations, and terminations.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and nonmandatory training to ensure compliance.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including, but not limited to compensation, payroll, benefits, leave management, performance management, corrective actions, employee relations, training, and development, and all others as needed or required within the department.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations on best practices for learning and development programs and platforms.
  • Assists in the creation of internal training programs for employees, managers, and highpotential employees.
  • Oversees the performance management process, and systems and holds management accountable to deadlines.
  • Monitors and manages the leave of absence policies in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and in accordance with company policies for paid and unpaid absences including birthrelated leave, USSERA, and other that may apply.
  • Participates in evaluation of vendors, reviews demonstrations, makes recommendations and assists with implementation.
  • Works with Payroll to rotate payroll processing responsibilities, participates in audits, and provides support as needed.
  • Works collaboratively with Benefits to support audits, discriminatory testing, annual open enrollment, and compliance.
  • Works collaboratively with Talent Acquisition to support recruiting, screening, and onboarding functions as needed.
  • Cross train within the team, and across other departments, to provide backup support throughout the department.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years' generalist experience is required, prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Preferred certifications include PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and intermediate experience with Excel.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employmentrelated laws and regulations.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

Work Environment:


This position is primarily located within an office although will be required to go out onto the production floor, travel on occasion including to field and site locations.
