    Job Description

    Responsible for safely operating the companys forklifts and yard trucks (when applicable).

    Will assist the Shipping and Receiving team in achieving an efficient and damage-free cross-docking process & car staging for our customers.

    This position reports directly to the Operations Supervisor and Office Manager.


    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


    Complete the safe unloading and loading of cars, meeting customer specified loading patters, without damage to equipment, product, or the working areas.

    Open, tie, close trailer/container doors
    Accurately match numbers & letters, confirming the correct containers are being loaded/unloaded. Check bills of lading or required documentation to ensure cars, products or goods are correct.
    Perform documented checks on product including visual inspection of cars, products or goods.
    Inspect equipment being operated daily forklift and/or jockey truck for safe function and proper maintenance.
    Be available to respond to scheduled and unscheduled business needs outside of normal business hours.
    Keep the yard and loading area clean, safe, and organized, ensuring it meets OSHA requirements.
    Take initiative, ownership, and responsibility of the work duties. Must look to continually develop and improve procedures, processes, and efficiencies.
    Carry out other related duties as needed.
