    Role Description:

    Arcadis is looking for enthusiastic Environmental Engineering interns to join us this summer at our various offices nationwide. This internship is ideal for proactive students seeking to advance their careers in environmental consulting. It provides a chance to gain hands-on experience with diverse environmental projects, collaborate with a talented team, and become part of a reputable and rapidly growing organization known for its exceptional work and exceptional employees. There is potential for permanent employment following graduation.

    Responsibilities may involve a mix of field and office tasks, potentially including local travel.

    Role Accountabilities:

    Key responsibilities could encompass, but not limited to:

    • Operation and oversight of remediation systems (water and vapor treatment)
    • Planning and supervision of system enhancement projects and upgrades
    • Collection of soil and groundwater samples
    • Conducting site characterization, remedial design, and feasibility studies
    • Compiling and assessing data, ensuring quality control
    • Writing reports, facilitating permits, assisting with cost estimates
    • Collaborating with project managers and senior engineering team members
    • Installing soil borings and groundwater monitoring wells

    The intern will participate in analyzing and interpreting field and analytical data to develop engineering designs, submit permit applications, and prepare construction-related documentation. This exciting role involves environmental remediation design tasks such as designing soil and groundwater remedial systems, as well as evaluating in-situ technology treatment. Travel and fieldwork may be required (if the candidate possesses a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification).

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a relevant engineering field.
    • Prior internship experience is advantageous.
    • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred but not mandatory.
