    Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
  • Peace and war are among the oldest dreams and most difficult challenges of human experience. The curriculum brings together faculty and courses from many disciplines to provide undergraduates with a range of approaches to the fundamental issues of human conflict and national and global security and defense.
    Position Summary
  • The Department Manager will provide administrative support to the Peace, War and Defense department through processing routine financial accounting and personnel actions and handling operational needs. Duties will include preparation and submission of vouchers, reimbursements, independent contractor approvals and payments, purchase order requests, travel requests, purchasing and travel card reconciliations, scholarships and student awards, internal billings, overloads, recruitment postings, hire actions, affiliate requests, supply orders, inventory, parking assignments, mail and shipping orders, surplus, and office technology.
    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Entrylevel with Masters; or Bachelors and 02 yrs experience
    Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
  • Knowledge of financial accounting and reporting. Ability to observe, monitor, collect and record fiscal data. Ability to manage resources, monitor activities, and assess risks and quality control. Ability to prepare documentation and create financial reports. Ability to advise department deans and directors on financial policies, procedures, and appropriate course of action.
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, functions, and software processes. Ability to analyze and explain policy, procedure, or process revisions, and implement HR initiatives to achieve departmental needs. Ability to advise department deans and directors on appropriate course of action for HRrelated functions.
  • Ability to utilize MS Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

    Campus Security Authority Responsibilities
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act.

This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
