Description
A healthcare network in New York is looking to add an experienced, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to one of their facilities in Westchester County as their new Assistant Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery.

Responsibilities:
The Assistant Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery will:
Assure the delivery of quality department /clinical services in accordance with established hospital and regulatory/accreditation agency standards
Promote a positive and professional image and is a role model, coach, mentor, problem solver and resource for staff and peers
Maintain 24 hour responsibility for nursing care provided on the unit
Collaborate with Physicians and other members of the Health Care Team to assure the delivery of optimum age appropriate patient care
Participate in the development of Evidence based Standards of care for clinical area of responsibility
Assure employee compliance with hospital and Human Resources policies and procedures
Assure that employee competency and education requirements are satisfied as per hospital policy
Develop and submit departmental goals and objectives
Develop and submit operating and capital budgets and report variances as required
Assure completion of staff orientation, annual and ongoing competency and education requirements.
Conduct staff meetings monthly to update staff and/or address department issues and records meeting minutes for all staff
Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
2+ years of relevant Acute Care experience
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
BLS certification
Experience in a Labor & Delivery role/setting
Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
Desired Skills
Certification in area of specialty or Certified Nurse Manager & Leader (CNML)
ACLS certification
Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Management role
