Overview:
The
Legal Assistant is responsible for supporting real estate and litigation attorneys in all aspects of administrative support.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Draft of pleadings and familiarity with basic litigation pleadings and procedures
- Assist with preparing and assembling documents regarding discovery
- Correspondence with various courts to schedule hearings
- Knowledge of PACER filing process (Federal Court)
- Draft client correspondence
- Prepare paperwork for occasional General District Court filings
- Assist in time entry and monthly billing
- Answer telephone calls and assist clients as needed
- Meet and assist clients in office
- Schedule appointments for attorneys, maintain calendars, calculate deadlines, and input deadline reminders
- Open, maintain, and close files in timely manner to include initial conflict check process and electronic scanning
- Willingness to perform various administrative/interoffice duties
Job Qualifications:
- 510 years of related work experience in a professional services firm
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Notary public preferred
- Lift up to 25 pounds
Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday
Pay:
From $50,000.00 per year
