Description
Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain low voltage systems, including but not limited to various cable that includes twisted pair cable fiber optic, coax, as well as other low voltage cable.
- Install cable pathway's of various types and buildout telecom closets.
- Ensure proper cabling, termination, and connection of low voltage components according to industry standards and project specifications.
Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve issues with low voltage systems efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and proactively address them to minimize downtime.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with Project Managers, Customers, and other team members to ensure successful project completion.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and additional work performed.
- Create and update technical documentation, including wiring diagrams and asbuilts.
- Upload test results.
Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and expectations.
- Provide clear explanations and demonstrations of low voltage systems to clients.
- Compliance
- Adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing low voltage systems.
- Keep uptodate with industry trends and advancements to ensure compliance and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or a similar role.
- Knowledge of low voltage systems, protocols, and equipment.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently or as a part of a team.
- Physical fitness and agility for installation and maintenance tasks.
- Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to operate a computer proficiently.
- Willingness to travel.
Education and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications in low voltage systems (e.g., BICSI, NICET) are a plus.
