- Clear interpersonal communication, proofreading, editing, and formatting skills

- Strong technical capabilities to build dashboards, visualizations, and analyses using standard tool sets (Spotfire, Power BI, Qlikview, Tableau)
- Bachelor's Degree equivalent education and typically 5 years of experience, Master's Degree or equivalent education and typically 4 years of experience.
- Knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques
- SQL skills (basic queries, table creation, views, and reporting)
- Python or R
- Proficiency in data flow/architecture and ETL
- Demonstrated history of successful execution in a fast-paced environment and in managing multiple priorities effectively
- Background in life sciences or work experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
- Working knowledge of drug discovery process and bioassay analysis
- Experience with pipeline software (RapidMiner, Knime, Pipeline Pilot)
- Familiarity with GitHub or other version control tools

In this role, you'll be responsible for:
As a Data Scientist at AbbVie, you will be responsible for advancing the way we capture, analyze, calculate and visualize scientific data. To do this effectively, strong communication skills will be crucial for collaboration, scientific engagement and training. Excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills are needed to identify the right solution and troubleshoot workflows. Building solutions such as dashboards, visualizations, and analyses will require strong technical skills and experience with analytics platforms (Spotfire, PowerBI, Qlikview, or Tableau).
