The Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is looking for a Principal or Senior Principal Supply Chain Subcontracts Specialist for their Tactical Space Systems Division, focusing on mechanical and propulsion categories. The role involves procuring and managing medium to high-value subcontracts, preparing bids, selecting suppliers, negotiating terms, and managing supplier performance. The position requires collaboration with various departments such as Supply Chain Management, Program Planners, and Quality among others. The selected candidate may also be involved in mentoring junior staff.

This position is available in Gilbert, AZ, or Dulles, VA, and may involve on-site work with potential travel as needed.

The standard work schedule is under a 9/80 format, allowing employees to have every other Friday off.

Responsibilities:

  • Review Purchase Requisitions for completeness and obtain necessary information.
  • Prepare RFQ/RFP and identify suitable sources for procurement needs.
  • Evaluate suppliers' proposals for compliance and conduct fact-finding.
  • Participate in source selection for competitive procurements.
  • Conduct cost and/or price analysis and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Make subcontract awards, document folders, and manage supplier performance during execution.
  • Conduct subcontract close-outs according to policies and procedures.
  • Mentor other professionals when required.

The position can be filled at the level of Principal Supply Chain Subcontracts Specialist (Level 3) or Sr. Principal Supply Chain Subcontracts Specialist (Level 4) based on the qualifications outlined below.

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree with relevant experience.
