- Operates as part of a team facilitating harm reduction interventions.
- Provides one-on-one support to participants.
- Engages in outreach activities with target population to build trust and provide support.
- Provides harm reduction services and supplies, such as Narcan, wound-care kits, and safer-use supplies.
- Facilitates crisis referrals.
- Facilitates referrals to treatment and connects participants to community resources.
- Collects and maintains data.
- Facilitates new client intake processes.
- Prepares reports.
- Facilitates referrals to STI testing and treatment.
- Provides rapid-testing for HIV at HEAL locations and outside events.
- Reports incidents of neglect and abuse and assists with the client grievance process.
- Works with supervisor to assure continuous program quality and compliance with related licensing and regulatory agencies.
- Participates in community and stakeholder advisory board activities to improve service quality.
- Provides education and training on bloodborne pathogens, Narcan, sharps handling, and harm reduction strategies.
- Fosters and maintains relationships with community partner agencies and organizations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated commitment to and appreciation for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA).
- 1+ year experience as a harm reduction coordinator preferred.
- Familiarity with community resources.
- Knowledge of the service and care needs of people in active use experiencing houselessness.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency with Word, Outlook; basic Excel skills.
- Lived experience is valued and populations that have faced historic barriers to employment are encouraged to apply.
- Must be available to work Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and other weekend/nights events.
- Occasional prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

JOB SUMMARY
The Harm Reduction Coordinator is a proficient multi-culturally skilled and experienced harm reductionist specialist applying active listening and motivational interviewing skills to foster self-directed healthy outcomes. The Harm Reduction Coordinator will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and overseeing harm reduction programs and initiatives aimed at reducing harm associated with substance use. This position involves working closely with diverse populations and community organizations to create a safer and healthier environment for all individuals affected by substance use.
