This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (
NY HELPS).


At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under
NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination.

Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.

While serving permanently in a
NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.

Duties Description

  • Gather, review and evaluate information required for the issuance of professional licenses and professional corporation approvals;
  • Develop and update training materials and train staff to perform required job duties;
  • Assist lowerlevel staff in responding to questions and determining appropriate pathways for complex corporation and licensing cases;
  • Work with external exam vendors and Information Technology Services to upload accurate exam scores and create eligibility files;
  • Research internal and external resources to resolve complex licensing/Professional Corporation issues;
  • Provide advice to and otherwise assist supervisors in planning, organizing, scheduling, and coordinating work operations and work procedures;
  • Implement qualitycontrol measures to ensure that licenses are issued in accordance with all laws/regulations;
  • Set up processes and develop forms for new professions in consultation with key stakeholders; and
  • Analyze processes and coordinate recommendation changes with supervisors on process improvements.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- $42,883 (Trainee 1
  • NS equated to SG11)

- $47,925 (Trainee 2
  • NS equated to SG13)
- $50,678 (Full Performance level SG-14)

This position leads to a maximum salary of $64,693 based on annual performance advances and traineeship advances.
