    Job Description

    The Division of Finance is looking for an enthusiastic Project and Portfolio Manager to work across financial and technical teams to support project planning and execution.

    Principal Duties

    As the Project and Portfolio Manager, you will:

  • Help foster a culture of collaboration, trust, and support.
  • Help various teams and stakeholders understand scaled agile methodologies and project management overall.
  • Plan and manage the execution of projects.
  • Help teams understand and facilitate various agile ceremonies like scrum meetings, retrospectives, and PI planning meetings.
  • Help teams with work breakdown structures, acting as a scrum master for multiple teams.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage project timelines.
  • Monitor and effectively communicate and report on projects, problems, and solutions.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of multiple projects and their scopes.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, organized, and stored appropriately.
  • Implement project management methodology tools and practices with exceptional skills and expertise.

    The best qualified person for this role will have:

  • Experience managing a variety of project tasks for complex projects in a multi-customer, dynamic environment, such as: Prioritizing and planning work activities. Helping teams with iteration planning. Identifying and managing risks. Effectively managing time, resources, and vendors. Project planning and tracking.
  • Experience in resource capacity planning.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in an understandable way
  • Experience with effective change management.
  • A demonstrated understanding of project management and scaled agile framework (SAFe).

  • Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g. safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
