    Description

    Join a talented team, learn from the best Yonkers Contracting has an immediate opening for a Civil Project Engineer with 4-8 years of experience and some building experience.

    Working closely with the Project Manager, some essential duties include:


    • Coordinate and interface with owners, owner representatives and construction management teams to ensure efficiency


    • Develop construction means and methods working drawings and submittals


    • Provide technical engineering by interpretating plans and specs


    • Process and track change orders


    • Parts and Materials – ensure materials are on site when needed


    • Assist in securing equipment


    • Process transmittals, submittals, RFI's and change orders


    • Ensure compliance with all appropriate standards, codes, and specifications


    • Subcontractor coordination and monitor for contract adherence


    • Research and resolve drawing problems, errors, etc.


    • Contribute to fostering effective communication between field and project team


    • Assist with safety compliance

    Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


    • 4-8 years of civil construction experience (with some building experience)


    • B.S. in Civil Engineering preferred


    • Maintain up to date knowledge of the contract specifications and scopes of work


    • Knowledge of project schedules, status reports, profit projections


    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills


    • Strong verbal and written communication skills


    • Ability to read and understand drawings


    • Attention to detail


    • Excellent problem solving and communication skills


    • Prepare clear and concise reports and letters


    • OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30


    • Must meet requirements to work in the US (form I9)


    • Valid driver's license

    Salary Range: $100k -140k - based on experience, education and training

    Physical Demands/Working Conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):


    • Work in varying weather and temperatures


    • Sit and/or stand for extended periods


    • Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination needed to use a variety of office equipment such as computer, telephones, calculators, copiers, and drafting equipment


    • Visual acuity to perform drafting, review plans, and perform other essential functions of the job


    • Occasionally walk on uneven terrain and/or across bridges


    • May be required to work more than 40 hours a week and/or work irregular hours
