ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER.


The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for and have significant experience working with Materials Global Operations system and analyzes the information available through that system to advise our plant Materials and Operations departments toward effective assembly and sequencing of parts.

This person is an effective liaison to our customer with excellent communication, project management, and presentation skills.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support and execute the Engineering Change process:
  • Facilitate all activities associated with New Product Launches between the Company's and Customer's various teams
  • Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, and Materials
  • Attend customer meetings and act as CLI point person for all information regarding upcoming process, production, and/or system changes
  • Responsible for product lifecycle management (PLM)
  • Define scope of each project, define project team resources, and report out on team's progress
  • Develop project plan and timelines. Manage team's adherence to plan and provide status updates
  • Work closely with customer and internal teams to coordinate and manage activities related to new product launches
  • Manage new part introduction and production part change process. Ensure part changes are properly deployed across multiple systems
  • Manage Development Builds and Pilot Testing activities
  • Identify product and process specifications based on the customer's AutoCAD drawings
  • Manage the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Understand the inputs and outputs; ensure all aspects are being properly documented
  • Provide status updates and communicate progress to internal and external teams throughout the PPAP process
  • Manage training deployment and the creation/updating of process work instructions
  • Maintain document compliance
  • Ensure all documents are completed and filed on time with the appropriate parties
  • Interface daily with the customer's Senior Leadership Team
  • Must be able to lead multiple projects simultaneously

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor's' Degree is required; Degree within Engineering is highly preferred
  • 3+ years' Project Management experience within Manufacturing/Operations is required; preferably supporting the Engineering function
  • PMP Certification highly preferred
  • Tier 1 Automotive experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • Ability to train others on process and procedures
  • Lean manufacturing experience desirable
  • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
