    Job Title: JPAWS Care Attendant I



    Company: Department of Jefferson Protection and Animal Welfare Service


    Do you have a passion for animals and want to make a difference in their lives? We are currently looking to fill a vacancy for a JPAWS Care Attendant I in the West Jefferson area. Join our team and help provide care for shelter animals, maintain facilities, and assist the public in finding lost pets or adopting new furry friends.


    • Attend to animals in kennels with care and efficiency
    • Observe animals for signs of illness and report any findings
    • Clean holding areas, ensure animals have food and water, and handle them with compassion
    • Administer vaccines and assist with adoption processes
    • Maintain electronic Animal Inventory System
    • Work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
    • Obtain Certified Animal Euthanasia Technician (CAET) certification

    This position is essential for emergency duties and requires dedication to the well-being of animals in our care. If you are at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalency certificate, we encourage you to apply and become part of our mission to protect and serve animals in need.
