Position Summary:


The Information Technology Director will work closely with the Network Administrator and Information Systems Specialist to collaboratively maintain and enhance the local computer systems, including all software, in a healthcare environment.

The Information Technology Director oversees the integrity of the network, server deployment, security, and ensuring that the network connectivity throughout TRIHCI's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with documented best practices.

Subsequently, the Information Technology Director will manage TRIHCI clinic servers; create and manage budgets to include TRIHCI clinic computer needs; recommended solutions; identifying enhancements; training IT staff; to include overseeing the installation of approved systems hardware and software; and developing or modifying the Information Systems and all other computer systems within the clinic.

The individual will oversee and assure quality data systems by influencing or motivating staff, defining user requirements, planning hardware and software needs and through adherence to professional IT standards.

The Information Technology Director must work in a positive and respectful manner with fellow employees.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage all data backups and disaster recovery operations conform to best practice IT documentation and will insure the security of all backups.
  • Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking hardware/software and operating system software.
  • Oversee all technical support provided by TRIHCI IT department.
  • Oversee, plan and execute all routine network startup and shutdown procedures as necessary.
  • Manage of all Storage Area Network (SAN). i.e. Unitrends.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Recommend changes to improve systems and network performance and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
  • Interface and communicate with hardware and software support teams (IHS/CRIHB and any other authorized organizations).
  • Oversee and ensure proper operation of login or automated network actions via AD (Active Directory.)
  • Perform research and introduce and integrate new technologies into existing data center environments.
  • Works with management and end users to determine the appropriate approach to maintenance and services of technology. Establishes service requirements, service standards, and service vehicles.
  • Supervise routine audits of systems and software.
  • Configure operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes as needed.
  • Troubleshooting any reported problems not resolved by Network Administrator and /or IT Information Systems Specialists.
  • Ensure that the Local Area Network (LAN) is up and running.
  • Ensure that work performed by Network Administrator and ISS staff conforms to vendor specified best practices.
  • Manages and facilitates all IT purchases and ensure that software/equipment purchased is correct for the network environment and future needs.
  • Oversee the coordination, implementation and maintenance of all TRIHCI VOIP telephone systems and information with users and authorized phone companies.
  • Insure the functionality of local security cameras.
  • Research and recommend training for Network Administrator and Information Systems Specialists.
  • May Participatein IT projects at the direction of the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities may include:


a) Participation in all required staff meetings.


b) Performing general office duties or other related responsibilities as needed and assigned.


c) Be available to travel for training and meetings as well as support any additional clinics.


d) Must be drug free and submit to a pre-employment drug screening and continued random drug screenings.


e) Develops security systems, analyzing current systems for vulnerabilities.


f) Keeps track of how data enters and flows through medical and operational devices.


g) Develops a risk assessment and control strategy for medical and operational devices.


h) Ensures Medical and operational devices have the required security controls to collect, store, and transmit patient data in a way that is consistent with organizational policy.


i) Performs threat risk assessment for operational devices and cybersecurity risk for business and clinical purposes.
