As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Center Technician to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.


Hours:
Need 24/7/365 availability. Will be 8 hours per day/40 hours per week standard.


Wage:
$41-$46/hr


Data Center Technician:


As a Data Center Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency and maintenance of data center operations.

You will be a member of a dedicated 24/7 team, overseeing day-to-day operations, implementing best practices, and collaborating with key partners to guarantee the reliability and efficiency of the Data Center.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Operational Maintenance and Support:
  • Conduct Level 1/Level 2 Operational Maintenance for hardware technology elements and associated infrastructure per designated specifications.
  • Implement endtoend Level 1/Level 2infrastructure operations support following IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or other best practice frameworks.
  • Material Management:
  • Assist in managing Receipt, Storage, and Shipment of materials, tools, and consumables.
  • Storage Site Management:
  • Secure storage site/warehouse for critical spares and materials.
  • Fulfill material, tools, and consumables for repair and restoration services.
  • On-Premises Management and Control:
  • Conduct onpremises management and control (5S) of restoration testing equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Ensure readiness for operational acceptance and management of the network/data hall.
  • Facility Operations Center:
  • Operate a 24/7/365 Facility Operations Center for data center oversight and incident triage.
  • Handle notifications, escalations, and dispatching capabilities for incident/event restoration.
  • Critical Partner Engagement:
  • Engage and align with critical facility management trusted partners.
  • Collaborate with implementation, integration, and other relevant partners.
  • Safety and Security Programs:
  • Comply with physical security programs adhering to client and colocation standards.
  • Comply with company environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Emergency Preparedness:
  • Comply with emergency preparedness for unplanned disruptions, critical incidents, and emergencies.
  • Operational Metrics and Documentation:
  • Utilize workflow management systems to document all actions within the facility.
  • Network Element Component Replacement:
  • Collaborate with client and OEM for Network Element component replacement.
  • Assist in managing spares stockage, including cycle counts, reorders, receipt, and shipment of parts.
  • Server Component Service Restoration:
  • Perform server component service restoration, repairs, and replacements onpremise.
  • Assist in managing spares stockage for server components.

Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Relevant technical degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years handson experience in data center operations and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or similar best practice frameworks.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
  • Good communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with Jira or other workflow management systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
  • Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
  • Good handeye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
  • Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
  • Ability to differentiate between colorcoded warning signs, labels, and cables
  • Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
  • Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
  • Possession of a valid driver's license for workrelated travel, as required
