Summary:

We are looking for a General Manager to lead all aspects of our business. You will deliver a high-quality menu and motivate our staff to provide an excellent guest experience.

A General Manager is responsible for overseeing all of the restaurant's operations, which include hiring and firing staff, purchasing food, supplies and equipment, and dealing with suppliers and vendors.

General Manager responsibilities include maintaining the restaurant's revenue, profitability and quality goals. You will ensure efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.


The Job:


  • The General Manager's (GM) responsibility is to plan and direct all aspects of the restaurant operations, ensuring the business runs smoothly and up to the El Tucan standard. The GM maintains high standards of food, service, health, and safety, while keeping profitable business performance of the restaurant and the optimal utilization of staff and resources.
  • Establish standards for personnel performance and Guest service.
  • Achieve objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of staff and creating a positive, productive working environment.
  • Follow directives from the food and beverage manger by monitoring food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food to ensure that food is prepared and presented to specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.
  • Recruit, hire and oversee training for staff.
  • Maintain recordsi.e. personnel, vendor receipts, and financial.
  • Review financial statements, sales or activity reports, or other performance data to measure productivity or goal achievement or to identify areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.
  • 48 to 50 hours or more per week.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Manage all aspects of the restaurant to meet El Tucan's standards.
  • Lead the staff in delivering Awesome Service.
  • Positively impact financial performance.
  • Enforce standards and specifications.
  • Increase staff productivity.
  • Lead the staff with respect and fairness.
  • Estimate food consumption, place orders with suppliers, and schedule delivery of fresh food and beverages.
  • Resolve guest complaints about food quality or service.
  • Direct cleaning of kitchen and dining areas to maintain sanitation standards and keep appropriate records.
  • Monitor actions of staff and guests to ensure that health and safety standards and liquor regulations are obeyed.
  • Maintain budget and staff records, prepare payroll, and pay bills, or monitor bookkeeping records.
  • Use computer software to monitor inventory, track staff schedules and pay, and perform other record keeping tasks.
  • Check the quality of deliveries of fresh food and baked goods.
  • Meet with sales representatives to order supplies such as tableware, cooking utensils, and cleaning items.
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment and other services.
  • Total receipts and balance against sales, deposit receipts, and lock facility at end of day.
  • Recruit, hire, and oversee training for staff.
  • Schedule work hours for servers and kitchen staff.
  • Monitor food preparation and methods.
  • Responsible for the work of all servers and food preparers.
  • Performs other related duties as needed.
