Position Summary and Responsibilities
The Human Resources Support Specialist is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations.


Essential Functions

  • Assists the Director of HR Services with various HR projects.
  • Works crossfunctionally between departments to troubleshoot various client and employee issues.
  • Processes background and credit checks and schedules preemployment drug tests.
  • Conducts exit interviews on departing employees and compiles a report to present back to the client.
  • Develops, maintains and reviews Employee Handbooks for clients.
  • Assists the Director of HR Services in organizational training and development efforts.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database as needed.
  • Conducts audits for regulatory updates (minimum wage updates, statutory notices, etc.)
  • Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures as needed.
  • Maintains and processes all unemployment notices and potential charges for the tours in a timely manner.
  • Maintains basic knowledge of and ability to speak to HRigroup benefit plans, such as health, dental and vision insurances, disability insurances, life insurance, FSA, HSA, 401(k), worker's compensation, etc.
  • Acts as backup point of contact for Prismintegrated performance management and applicant tracking software; troubleshoots and participates in all client implementations.
  • Process documentation and track FMLA and statutory leave.
  • Researches and stays uptodate on all federal, state and local employment regulations as they pertain to clients.
  • Assists the Recruiting Specialist on recruitment efforts as needed.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • At least 2 years of human resources experience
  • At least 3 years of customer service experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Degree in human resources or related field
  • SHRM-CP

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Ability to keep up to date with various state, federal and local compliance regulations
  • Ability to maintain confidential information

Pay:
$45, $55,000.00 per year

  • Customer service: 3 years (preferred)
