WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT IN BRIEF

What? Anlagenmechaniker/innen for sanitary, heating and air conditioning technology install and maintain technical systems in the areas of sanitary, heating and air conditioning, supply of gas, water, air, heat as well as other energy and media.

Who? Minimum requirement is a secondary school leaving certificate, spatial imagination and manual dexterity.

Where? Trainees learn in the mechanical training workshop and in the building and property management department of the mechanical and supply engineering department at the Juelich Research Center.

They attend vocational school classes at the vocational college in Juelich once or twice a week.
How long? The training lasts for three and a half years. With a good academic background, it can be shortened by half a year.
