Duties:


  • Set up and maintain beverage line during meals to include coffee, soda, juice, milk, and ice cream dispensers.
  • Serve food in cafeteria and replenish food in self service areas.
  • Set in place grab and go merchandise to include soda, juice, milk, chips, fruit, salads, ice cream novelties, and sandwiches.
  • Manually or using mechanical equipment, wash heavy pots and pans, dishes, trays, and serviceware from the kitchen, dining room, catering functions and patient care units.
  • Disassemble trays returned from dining area, and dispose of waste in accordance with established safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Serve as a cashier, operating the Point of Sale cash register system, collecting cash from customers, making exact change, and safe guarding cash according to established procedures.
  • Portion and garnish desserts using portion control principles and maintains dessert bar serving area.
  • Clean and sanitize dishroom and pot and pan areas to include countertops, dishwashing machine, dish racks, tray return, scrapping sinks floors, and pot and pan machine.

  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • A preplacement medical examination is required.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 45 pounds may be required.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.

The ability to perform the common duties of a Food Service Worder. Follow established safety and sanitation procedures in a kitchen. Operate, breakdown, or clean various types of food service equipment. Knowledge in simple food handling procedures, and follow instructions to portion, garnish, or serve food.

Work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Work is performed on hard surfaces and in areas that require the employee to continuously stand, walk, stoop, bend, push, pull, and reach. Must frequently lift and carry supplies, materials, or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
