Summary:


The Office Manager is responsible for maintaining the financial records for the Home as well as overseeing the accounts payable and invoice processing.

This position also handles the documentation for admission and discharge and any necessary Medicaid documentation.


Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Maintain current accounts receivable
  • Process invoices for payment in accordance with AP procedures
  • Calculate and submit payroll to appropriate payroll company
  • Prepare month end financial statements
  • Maintain daily census for residents
  • Prepare bank deposits and maintain petty cash levels
  • Perform bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Coordinate year end accounting, tax and audit functions with accounting firm
  • Prepare all State of Connecticut documentation regarding discharges/admissions
  • Prepare monthly funds statements for residents and/or family members
  • Attend InService meetings as required by State of Connecticut DPH
  • Other duties as required or requested

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for the supervision of the Assistant Bookkeeper/receptionist


Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma

Minimum of Five (5) years experience in the accounting field

Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

Demonstrated knowledge of the Medicaid/Title XIX regulations


Communications Skills:

Individual must have the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications.

Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret financial documents.

Must be able to effectively communicate with residents and their responsible parties regarding payment process and funds management for residents.


Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to stand, walk and reach with arms and hands. Occasionally required to sit, climb, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must have the ability to type regularly. Individual must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of this position.
