The
ENGINEERING/MAINTENANCE MANAGER II will report to the
Plant Manager.

Under the general direction of the Plant Manager, at the Hunt Valley Plant provides leadership for the Maintenance function to over 110 team members within a high-performance team environment.

Oversees the strategic direction of the function and drives improvement activities through the development of people and processes. Works to develop strategic roadmap utilizing TPM and delivering progress to the goals. Has overall accountability for the results of the team.

Fully responsible for standing up the PM Pillar and utilizing Total Productive Maintenance techniques to build a solid maintenance strategy.

This position will serve on the Plant Senior Leadership Team as the voice for the Maintenance function for the entire facility.

Additional strategic project work outside of Maintenance will be assigned to this position.

IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES:

Set up PM pillar and utilizes TPM tools to build problem solving methodologies to implement continually improve processes within the function.

Demonstrates a sense of urgency and tenacity to resolve problems and implement process improvements. Leads root cause analysis when required for failures that meet the applicable threshold. Develops and ensures all functional procedures and best practices are documented and continually improved. Interacts cross-functionally to resolve issues. Leads the reliability roadmap to align plant priorities.

Accountable for the development and implementation of effective preventive maintenance programs, along with the establishment of a proficient maintenance stores procurement and inventory control system, as applicable.

  • PROJECT ALIGNMENT: Serves as strategic project lead for 1 core project supporting capacity improvement, throughput and/or efficiency gains supporting consumer network run rate restoration initiatives.
Provides overall TPM and lean leadership guidance to all project stakeholders and collaborates with operations, engineering, reliability and plant leadership to deliver milestones on time and at rate.

MANAGE KEY RESULT AREAS (Safety, Quality, Cost, Reliability, Customer Service, etc.): Supports the daily management of the team to prioritize work and achieve goals.

Creates an atmosphere of 100% compliance to operational processes and procedures. Coordinates the sharing of resources to make the best use of existing skills to meet business needs. Develops and ensures that procedures and scorecards are in place for the team. Ensure that safety and security measures are in place for the facility.20%

  • TEAM MANAGEMENT: Leads leadership team members in a specific functional area in a manner consistent with the core beliefs and guiding principles of McCormick's High-Performance System.
Utilizes coaching and facilitation skills to manage employee relations. Provides regular performance feedback and oversees development/training plans for individuals within the team. Actively uses performance and development tools to document and facilitate improvement/recognition discussions. Rewards and recognizes performance achievements. Removes barriers that prevent the team from achieving goals.

Communicates effectively across all levels of the organization. Creates a vision for the team that is in alignment with the Plant, Region, and McCormick.
