EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months experience in a similar position or relevant work experience.
  • Forklift driving experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid, unexpired, California Driver's License
  • Acceptable driving record with no major or multiple violations.
  • 25 or more years of age (Insurance coverage requires this age restriction)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Driver functions

  • Load and unload the company truck.
  • Using a flatbed or box truck, transport company products and items between buildings.
  • Ensure company trucks are in good working repair and report any issues immediately.
Receiving Associate functions

  • Unload and receive incoming shipments.
  • Match incoming shipments to their purchase orders and record receiving data.
  • Inspect shipments for damage correct quantities.
  • Report shortage or damaged product to appropriate personnel.
  • Unload, unpack and organize products.
  • Prepare and load outbound shipments.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is essential.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct physical inventory.
  • Help in production when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Help maintain a clean warehouse.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Must work well with others in and out of your department:


  • Basic Computer knowledge and typing skills required.
  • Experience with the Microsoft suite of programs (Word & Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail, problemsolving, and organizational skills and abilities are essential.
  • Basic math and computer skills and abilities are essential.
  • Ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
  • Ability to become standup forklift and pallet truck certified.
  • Selfmotivated and the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret information and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across teams and departments.
  • Strong awareness of safety measures, protocols, and requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The environmental conditions for this position include inclement indoor / outdoor extremes of cold, heat, dust, wind and various forms of precipitation.
  • Walking, moving around and/or standing for long periods of time during the shift.
  • Sitting up to 4 hours per day doing work on the computer and other paperwork.
  • Recurring climbing and descending of stairs or step ladders throughout the day to perform work. Work for this position may be performed at an elevated station.
  • There is repetitive handwrist, elbow and shoulder motion required for this position for approximately eight (8) hours or more during the workday.
  • Lifting and or retrieving items of 050 pounds without assistance; pounds with assistance and 100+ pounds with mechanical assistance.
  • In a normal day additional physical activities include bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, pushing, pulling, twisting, reaching, performing work in awkward positions and climbing ladders.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth and the ability to adjust and focus with or without assistance from special eyewear.
  • While operating a forklift must be able to press clutch, brake and gas pedals and the ability to control equipment with mechanical hand levers.
