Job Summary:


The Payroll and Benefits Specialist administers all activities relating to the company payroll, benefits, and employee leaves of absence, and is a proactive member of the HR Team reporting to the Human Resources Director.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Serves as BFH Time & Attendance Administrator
  • Reviews and imports labor hours into ADP Workforce Now.
  • Processes endtoend biweekly payroll for approximately 500 team members using ADP, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Oversees payroll reporting, ensuring adherence to policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state, and IRS regulations.
  • Assists finance department with reconciliation of all payrollrelated transactions.
  • Administers new state tax setups within ADP and maintains updates for existing states.
  • Oversees the annual W2 process, ensuring full compliance with government reporting requirements for payroll taxes, withholding, and employer contributions.
  • Serves as point of contact for team member inquiries related to payroll or benefits and addresses or resolve discrepancies.
  • Manages benefit enrollments, terminations, changes, funding and ensures proper documentation and compliance.
  • Coordinates with finance team to review, reconcile, and approve monthly benefit invoices.
  • Assists HR Director with COBRA enrollments and unemployment claims.
  • Manages interface between applicable systems of record to ensure accurate recordkeeping and compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Writes, runs and maintains reports and documentation related to payroll and benefits for internal review and external audits.
  • Together with HR team members, plans and administers annual open enrollment period including preparation and distribution of materials, conducting meetings to communicate changes to employees, arranging for onsite representation by providers, and processing changes within deadlines.
  • Conducts and reports audit results to ensure all enrollments are accurate and that dependent information is correct for each team member, working closely with DOF and HRD to prepare for annual audits (payroll, benefits, 401k, etc.).
  • Works closely with other team members to develop and maintain standardized operating procedures.
  • Leads and contributes to adhoc projects as required.
  • Exempt position that works 4050 hours weekly, which may include weekends and holidays.

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
  • Proven experience in payroll and benefits administration in the state of Texas.
  • Degrees in Human Resources, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
  • 5 years of experience of directly related experience.
  • FCP or CPP a plus.
