SOUTH CONGRESS HOTEL is hiring for a SECURITY AGENT On -Call

The living room for the neighborhood, South Congress Hotel is an 83-room boutique hotel designed to be a hub of activity for the community.

A place for travelers and locals alike, the hotel has three restaurants, a coffee + bakeshop, rooftop pool, award-winning Lobby Bar, and two retail spaces, in addition to a range of community events + programming open to all.

All locally owned, all right at the doorstep of Austin's favorite street.


JOB OVERVIEW
A Security Agent is responsible for the overall safety of the hotel. This position ensures a safe and secure environment through observant patrolling and camera review. You will be responsible for monitoring compliance of policies and procedures and addressing any concerns effectively and diplomatically.

This role is required to respond to emergencies, assist guests with safety and security needs, complete detailed, accurate reports, and coordinate efforts with local law enforcement, government service agencies, and hotel department managers.

You have a strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously. You have sharp verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to recalling details. You're excellent with time management and can juggle projects in a fast-paced environment.

You're able to react appropriately to stressful situations while demonstrating integrity and professionalism. You are quick to think on your feet and see the big picture.


What you'll learn:

People skills, effective communication, dynamic thinking, proactive conflict resolution, accountability, safety, situational reading and awareness, and leading with hospitality.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous security experience preferred
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to the activities of security personnel _(including OSHA, Hazardous Communications, and Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control) _preferred
• CPR/AED/First Aid training certification preferred
