Location and Travel Requirements:

This position is primarily based out of Riverside County, California. Minimal to zero travel will be expected.


Reporting Structure:

This position reports to the Store Manager and currently has no direct reports.

In the absence, or at the direction of, the Store Manager and the Assistant Store Manager this position is expected to fill that role.


Availability Required:


This position requires availability to work Monday through Saturday between 6:45 AM-7:30 PM and Sundays between 7:45 AM-6:00 PM including Holidays.

Approximately 35-40 hours per week.


Job Summary:


The primary responsibilities of this role are to provide exceptional customer service, ensure the priorities of the management team are carried out efficiently, and serve as ?Manager-on-Duty? when necessary.

This includes ensuring a positive shopping experience, managing inventory, opening/closing the store, enforcing security protocols, supporting/training staff, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers, answering their inquiries, and offering product knowledge and recommendations.
  • Oversee and ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the retail hardware store, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS system management.
  • Serve as the Manager-on-Duty (MOD) when necessary; responsible for ensuring the management teams plans are executed, opening/closing the store, ensuring security protocols are followed, and responding to any emergency situations that may arise.
  • Provide guidance and support to Team Members, including training on store procedures, product knowledge, and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with inventory control, including receiving shipments, restocking merchandise, and conducting regular inventory counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Assist with merchandising and maintaining product displays to maximize sales opportunities and enhance the overall store appearance.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and security procedures, including maintaining a clean and organized store environment, monitoring for potential hazards, and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with store management and team members to achieve sales goals, improve operational efficiency, and foster a positive work environment.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelors degree in a related field preferred
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred, particularly in a hardware or home improvement store environment.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware products, tools, and materials commonly used in home improvement projects is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric approach to provide exceptional service and build positive relationships with customers as well as train staff
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and support a team, as well as effectively delegate tasks.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the business.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment

Salary Range & Benefits:

The salary range for the Team Lead position is $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and employee discounts.
