General Statement of Responsibilities:

The Director of Nursing RN (Temporary) will provide nursing care for consumers and training for staff to address the unique needs of all consumers served throughout Beacon NJ Group Homes and Programs.

This position requires a high degree of professionalism and experience that conveys to staff the importance of providing quality services in a timely, caring and supportive manner.

Modeling this approach, consultations, training, assessments and audits will be routinely conducted by Nursing and is performed in a manner that supports and empowers direct care staff and LPNs to conduct their work based upon quality service, standards, DDD regulations and Beacon NJ agency standards.

The DON will act as a liaison with outside healthcare providers who provide services to consumers and oversee contracts of health-related entities.

The DON will also supervise other nurses employed and/or contracted by Beacon NJ.

In this leadership position the DON will be expected to carry the torch and ensure continuity of care for all consumers.

Qualifications:

Registered Nurse licensed in the State of New Jersey under the Board of Nursing. Experienced working with persons with disabilities and/or seniors as well as experience as a patient advocate. Valid driver's license with a clean driving history and personal automobile. Previous experience training, monitoring performance and conducting field audits.


Preferred:


BSN with 2 years of experience as an RN in a supervisory/management capacity with experience supervising field personnel, Experience training LPN's, DSP's/CLS's, Certified Home Health Aides or Nursing Assistants. DDD Experience a plus.
