This will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of football equipment operations while supporting our mission of holistic student-athlete development.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise part time and fulltime football equipment staff (2 full time assistant, 2 Grad assistants and 25+ student workers)
  • Mentors fulltime staff and creates development opportunities
  • Department head in staff meetings
  • Supervise student assistants and football team managers
  • Maintaining inventory and accountability of all football team equipment (100+ players and 100+ staff, including taxation reconciliation)
  • Supervise the issuance and return of all football team equipment
  • Maintenance of all football team equipment
  • Organize and upkeep of the football equipment room and football locker rooms
  • Oversee football practices and competitions
  • Manage coach to coach and coach to player communication, including best practices, troubleshooting, maintenance and warranties with helmet and communication manufacturers.
  • Properly fit protective football equipment
  • Manage the ordering of all football team equipment (Nike, protective equipment, field equipment)
  • Implement and maintain barcoding scanning system for apparel
  • Team travel duties (coordinates equipment truck, locker set up and transportation of equipment/gear for 150+ travel party)
  • Recruiting responsibilities for equipment management, allocation, and setup for recruiting weekends and events
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, including knowledge of best practices and technologies
  • Mange growth of department includes but not limited to budget, personnel, equipment, inventory control, and studentathlete needs
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, and project a positive, professional attitude.
  • Ability and desire to accurately perform detailoriented tasks and work with basic office software and database programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Five years of experience
  • Ability to work nights and weekends and travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience
  • Five years of experience
at the DI Level

  • AEMA Certification
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with sideline communications including coach to player technology
  • Experience managing inventory control systems and processes
