Role Description:


The Network Verification Coordinator I helps maintain and manage the Specialist Network the Third Party Services (TPS) Team relies upon to refer patients to specialists and facilities.

The role conducts outbound calls and interacts with provider offices and facilities via the phone, with the objective of validating information for billing to ensure that the information on the specialists offices and facilities are up to date.


Core Responsibilities:


  • Conduct outbound verification calls to speciality provider offices and facilities
  • Validate and update address, fax number, insurance acceptance, and other agreed upon data to better power Oak Street Health's database and tools
  • Seek additional information on the Internet, referral coordinator resources, and other sources of information to verify and holistically capture relevant information
  • Document the information collected in a detail oriented manner, with no spelling errors, typos, or missing information
  • Ability to translate referral and diagnostic knowledge into the outbound outreach to the specialty clinics and facilities to establish a relationship and capture the relevant information
  • Become a resource for the TPS Team and care teams. Strive to be the goto person when looking for specific information on specialty clinics, facilities, and insurance questions. Find areas for process improvement and bring forward recommendations to make work easier for your colleagues
  • Encourage the teammates around you to deliver excellence and improve the end results
  • Provide the highest level of customer service when interacting with specialty provider offices and facilities
  • Provide support for inbound inquiries from care teams
  • Other duties as assigned

What are we looking for?

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A flexible and positive attitude
  • Knowledge of referral and diagnostic processing
- preferred, but not required

  • Experience in customer service and/or clinical reception preferred, but not required
  • Detail oriented and an ability to document in a high quality manner
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Outstanding phone demeanor and etiquette
  • High level of integrity
  • Proficient PC skills, including basic Microsoft Excel / Google Spreadsheets skills
  • US work authorization
  • Someone who embodies being 'Oaky'
