    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Provides psychiatric evaluation and management services for childrenand/or adults in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting.

    ***Possible Relocation Stipend***

    POSITION DUTIES

    Leads and maintainsinpatient and/or outpatient interdisciplinary treatment teams, as assigned, andcoordinates with all team, family, medical practitioners, and other involvedcommunity agencies by participating in and reviewing treatment plans andprogress; and by consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians,therapists, nurses, and other health care providers.

    Performs inpatient andoutpatient (as assigned) initial and ongoing psychiatric evaluation andmanagement services by interviewing member, family, and other persons;conducting physical examinations, medical history, orders; prescribingmedications as appropriate; obtaining informed consent; formulating overallassessment and diagnoses; and completing accurate and thorough documentation asper policy.

    Treats members byutilizing evidence-based practices and best practices includingpsychotherapeutic practices and medications; discussing progress toward goalswith members; providing instructions to members and families; monitoringeffects of medications; and supervising staff in the provision of services asper the treatment plan, including progress towards goals and reassessments toachieve those goals.

    Participates inon-call coverage with other medical practitioners, as assigned. Performs Title36 (Involuntary) pre-petition screening, assessments, hospitalizationadmissions and court testimony, as assigned

    Enhances Medical Staffdepartment's and The Guidance Center's reputation and community value byaccepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploringopportunities to add value to job accomplishments and providing excellent,responsive, and welcoming customer service to internal and external customersand stakeholders.

    Assures high qualityand safe services for members and staff by enforcing and adhering to policies,procedures, standards, rules, The Joint Commission requirements, and legalregulations; by participating in utilization and quality reviews; by utilizing atrauma-informed perspective and by availability for emergency consultations.

    Improves staffcompetence by providing clinical leadership, training, and discussionsregarding evidence-base practices/best practices on wellness, and psychiatricand physical health care.

    Participates in newinitiatives such as integrated care, program enhancements, wellness programs,grants, community outreach, etc.

    Performs other dutiesas assigned.

    GENERAL EXPECTATIONS

    Provide high quality customer service tointernal and external customers.

    Must work well under pressure, meeting multipleand sometimes conflicting deadlines.

    Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleaguesand supervisors.

    Participate in Quality Improvement andPerformance Improvement Processes of the agency.

    Complete all TGC required trainings on time.

    Maintains a high level of professionalism whileperforming job functions.

    Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness tolearn.

    This position is 100% onsite, in the state ofArizona.

    This position is categorized as essential staff.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    Required:

    MD/DO from an accredited medical school andcompletion of residency program in General Psychiatry

    Board Certification or Board Eligibility inPsychiatry and/or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

    Current and valid Arizona MD/DO license with norestrictions

    Possession of a current DEA license, including abuprenorphine waiver (may be completed post-hire)

    Ability to complete privileging by TGC and allcontracted health plans

    Strong computer and electronic medical recordskills

    Ability to complete concurrent documentation inorder to minimize after-hours work.

    Possess Critical Thinking Skills, ActiveListening and Learning Skills, Learning strategies skills

    Willingness to Learn

    Ability to obtain Arizona Fingerprint ClearanceCard.

    At least21 years of age or older.

    Valid AZdriver's license.

    Preferred:

    BoardCertification in Adult and/or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
