The Opportunity


This role is responsible for supporting and developing sourcing plans for business related categories by translating business objectives into viable spend categories, reviewing strategic supplier relationships, and incorporating best practices to align with company strategies.

You may be assigned specific sourcing categories such as office services, professional services, claims, information technology, etc.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Translate business objectives into viable spend category sourcing strategies that will drive vendorrelated cost and/or quality improvements
  • Analyze current operations and processes to identify efficiencies, develop and implement recommendations to align to best practices
  • Contribute to the selection and management of key suppliers through appropriate evaluation, selection, and governance to ensure service quality, relevance, and commercial value
  • Participate in regular reviews with suppliers to ensure all terms and conditions are met and that any problems are identified and resolved or mitigated in a timely manner
  • Adhere to and maintain standard policies, process, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient and effective operation and compliance with regulations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business stakeholders to understand business needs and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Manage vendor communications and relationships on behalf of key stakeholders to maximize business value
  • Participate in crossfunctional category teams, actively seek out and incorporate feedback, and maintain knowledge of industry trends, developments, and new technologies to better satisfy customer needs and achieve business goals
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and influencing others to reward performance and value "can do" people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun
Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Required Experience

  • 1 year relevant experience
Preferred Competencies/Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills
  • Skill in Excel including manipulating large volumes of data, pivot tables, and lookups
  • Vendor management
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently with competing priorities
  • Complete tasks attentively and thoroughly
  • Establish and maintain effective and respectful relationships with customers
  • Communicate information in a clear, wellorganized, and professional manner
  • Seek opportunities for individual growth and development
Preferred Experience

  • 2 years relevant experience managing vendors/external suppliers preferred
Preferred Knowledge

  • Understanding of finance, supply chain, sourcing, and/or procurement (profit and loss, cost centers, GL accounts, purchase orders)
  • Knowledge of contract negotiation process
  • Knowledge and understanding of RFPs (Request for Proposal), SLAs (Service Level Agreement) and vendor scorecards
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and standard computer software
  • Principles and concepts of project management
