Job Summary and Qualifications:


As a Respiratory Therapy Tech, you will be under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) and you will administer noninvasive respiratory care/therapy to patients without artificial airways as ordered by the attending physician.

You will perform noninvasive diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, therapy under the supervision of the supervisor or charge therapist.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory care program and completed two semesters
  • Active student status must be maintained and documented
Licenses and Certifications

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited respiratory care program, pursuant to Texas licensure
  • Must have a letter on letterhead from the program signed by the director each semester verifying that he/she is a bona fide student in an approved respiratory care education program and attesting to the student's bona fide status as an active student in the clinical portion of that program or that the student has completed the clinical portion of the course within the preceding 12 months, and is actively pursuing a course of study leading to graduation of the program.
  • Must have completed at least 12 months of clinical practice
