    Description
    Summary:
    The Cocktail & Bar Lead is primarily responsible for the ideation and execution of our cocktail menu and program. This position is also responsible for assisting guests and coworkers at the bar and on the floor accurately, politely, and enthusiastically. Expected split of duties is 60% bartending and 40% cocktail program. This position requires weekend closes, holiday, and evening availability. The position reports to the General Manager.

    Responsibilities and Duties:
    • Creating and coordinating cocktail programs including making kegged cocktails for service, preparing syrups for service, conceptualizing the cocktail program for regular menu items as well as specials, writing SOPs for all cocktails, and ensuring bartending staff are adhering to them.
    • Ensure guests have a great experience and are excited to come back for more.
    • Connect regularly with guests and Leaf Pile members to ensure they feel welcomed, satisfied, and valued.
    • Manage and facilitate events.
    • Know the food and drink menus inside and out and be able to respond immediately to customer queries about ingredients, preparation methods, styles, etc.
    • Fill in where needed to ensure our standards of service are met.
    • Ensure that the entryway, retail area, pub spaces, escape pod, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces are clean and safe.
    • Utilize the servant leadership approach to energize and connect with staff and to ensure their feeling of being a valued member of the team.
    • Assist in the orientation and training of new employees that will be a great fit with our culture.
    • Pre-shifts with staff to set the day up for success.
    • Maintain clear communication with other leads to provide consistent expectations and SOPs for all staff.
    • Help determine need for continuous education for staff.
    • Work closely with the Chef and the BOH to communicate ideas and guest feedback.
    • Successfully perform office duties.
    • Responsible for closing the tasting room down, accurately cashing out staff, putting together money drop for the bank, locking up, setting alarm, etc.
    • Keep Toast updated and accurate and ensure all staff are fully trained on its proper use
    • Take inventory weekly on Sunday nights of draft, retail cans, retail liquor, kegged cocktails, cider, wine, and hand-pour spirits to ensure no lapse in product availability.
    • Order beverage items each week as needed and verify invoices to ensure the cost of products brought in and products sold are accurate, communicate any errors or updates with accounting.
    • Properly rotate stock using the first in first out system.
    • Know the responsibilities of the General Manager and be able to do them when needed.
    • Stay connected with the production team to understand and promote upcoming releases.
    • Coordinate with the Digital Brand Manager as needed for social media posts and promotions.

    Job Requirements:
    • Ability to come to work excited every day and ready to rock - your vibe is what staff feed off of.
    • Ability to handle and address conflict immediately and effectively-staff and guests should be glad they brought up an issue to you.
    • A good understanding of the brewing process.
    • Passion for all things Broad Leaf - unique beer and spirits, from-scratch cooking, exceptional service & experience, and sustainability.
    • Understanding of Broad Leaf history, policies, and procedures.
    • A passion for continuous improvement and learning.
    • Proficient in Google sheets and docs.
    • Cicerone Certified Beer Server certificate preferred.
    • 1 year of management experience.
    • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 40 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.

    Compensation:
    • $7/hour + % of tip pool while bartending.
    • $20/hour while performing backroom and office duties.
