GENERAL FUNCTION


The EssilorLuxottica Supply Chain Director oversees and is responsible for the movement of shipments for all Essilor Lens, RD and consumables entities through the EssilorLuxottica global supply chain.

Acts as a single point interface with internal/corporate (planning, sourcing, supply chain) employees, freight carriers and customers to ensure on time inbound and outbound deliveries for multiple EssilorLuxottica business segments.

In this role he/she will ensure team members communicate effectively with vendors, freight forwarders, customs brokers and transportation carriers to ensure efficient movement of goods across borders.

Leads a team of 3-4 import/export analysts.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The ability to multitask and handle various daily transportation issues from multiple entities and deliver clear, concise and sound recommendations.
  • Creates, monitors and reports on the critical KPI's that measure the performance of the transportation network against agreed upon service standards; implements process changes that correct deviations from expected results
  • Act as a single point interface developing and improving transportation methods for all Essilor Lens, RD and Consumable entities to improve efficiency and effectiveness, continue to meet the delivery requirements of the customer
  • Oversee and responsible for understanding all performance and claims for all freight vendors used by Essilor Luxottica group.
- recommending modifications to meet industry "best practice".

  • Build and manage inbound freight budget on yearly basis
  • Manage and coordinate Ocean and Air freight RFP on yearly basis with support from the global sourcing team
  • Maintain and continue to build strong partnerships and relationships with all key transportation suppliers within the Essilor Lux supply chain
  • Work closely with NA Sourcing director to ensure all key transportation initiatives are achieved and maintained throughout the year
  • Interfaces with customs brokers, suppliers and service providers to ensure consistency with defined import/export processes.
  • Manages yearly cost reduction initiatives and maintains budget project tracker
  • Oversees and maintains best practice procedures and working instructions relevant to the import/export process.
  • Ensures team members are responding timely and accurately to customer inquiries/carriers regarding shipment status.
  • Report to senior management on weekly basis on agreed upon freight KPIS that were created in coordination with the worldwide network team.
  • Support and direct import/export compliance manager to ensure all facets of the Duty Drawback program are maintained
  • Seek out and evaluate new transportation opportunities by providing indepth analysis, cost modeling and financial impacts.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of international logistics experience
  • Direct experience with import/export shipping in North America
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of software
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent time management, decision making, planning and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters Degree
  • Experience in SAP environment
  • Experience with import/export of medical devices and FDA regulations
  • Basic knowledge of SAP or Manhattan Associates WMS
  • Excellent knowledge of US Customs regulations
  • Hands on ability to trouble shoot and resolve transportation issues preventing production delays and impacts
