    Responsibilities


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develops/Validates new assays and improves current procedures/methods
    • Responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of the Analyzers.
    • Has advanced troubleshooting knowledge in all areas.
    • Update procedures as necessary.
    • QA/QC
    • Responsible for maintaining assays and performing calibration verification, linearities, interferences as necessary.
    • Responsible for inventory.
    • Technical resource for all staff
    • Ensure proficiency reports are completed and reported on time.
    • Performs education and training of staff.
    • Participation in continuing education/knowledge.
    • Uses critical thinking to come up with solutions.
    • Ensures all work is performed timely and accurately.
    • Teamwork - is approachable and takes the initiative to help out wherever needed
    • Communication - openly communicates any necessary technical or operational information to appropriate staff in a timely fashion.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Sign out clinical results.
    • Perform the duties of a Medical Technologist II as necessary.
    • Perform the duties of supervisor of Toxicology as necessary.
    • Ensure the safety of the laboratory and the techs are met.
    • Adherence to all University, Division and Department policies.
    • Professional discretion with confidential patient results.
    • Adherence to all laboratory safety procedures.

    Education Requirements:

    • BS in Medical Technology.
    • BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology with an advanced certificate of completion at a NYS designated program or an equivalent education and experience and six years qualified experience post NY State licensure.
    • Master's degree plus three years post NY State licensure.

    Pay Range

    Pay Range:
    $ $47.45 Hourly

    _The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job.

    Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
