Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Summary:

The Receptionist is the initial point of contact for the general public and is responsible for representing the professional image of the food bank to callers and visitors.

This role is responsible for greeting and directing clients and visitors to the proper staff, receiving and transmitting messages, coordinating supply needs, data entry, maintaining an exceptional front of house experience, and various administrative tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greets visitors in a friendly, professional manner in person or by telephone and connects them with the appropriate staff or services that will best serve their needs.
• Communicate and ensure adherence to safety and food safety expectations as appropriate with visitors
• Accept deliveries (UPS/FedEx/Staples/Amazon) and contact appropriate staff
• Provide information as requested both internally and externally regarding food bank activities and resources
• Maintain an exceptional front of house including the learning center, pantry checkin, and board room
• Maintain accurate schedule for conference rooms and the organization's shared calendars
• Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and documentation preparation
• Perform clerical and data entry duties in Microsoft Office and online based computer environments
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous administrative or customer service experience preferred

• Bilingual

• English/Spanish
• Compassionate and caring attitude; courteous communication with the public
• Ability to maintain confidentiality where necessary
• Maintains a positive and solutionsbased attitude
• Displays strong communication and team player skills
• Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and guidance
• Displays a clear understanding of professional behavior and etiquette
• Prior food bank or warehouse experience preferred, but not required

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors/Organization Requirements

• Experience with multiline phone system
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
• Extended periods of sitting at desk on phone and computer
• Indoor office/warehouse environment with moderate noise at food bank location
• Valid driver's license and insurance
• High school diploma
