We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tool and Die Maker to join our team.

The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of tool room machinery to produce machined components according to specifications from prints, sketches, or existing components.

This role encompasses troubleshooting, repairing, verifying, and maintaining basic, progressive stamping, and single operations tooling. Additionally, the Die Maker oversees Changeover Technicians and Tool Room Technicians.


Essential Functions:

• Maintain and perform repairs on stamping tools and components as instructed.
• Assemble new stamping tools at NEI using provided components, including electronic and pneumatic components, under the guidance of the Tool Room Manager.
• Fulfill all duties of the Tooling Changeover Technician when necessary.
• Report any necessary replacement components, tools, and expendable items promptly to ensure production requirements are met.
• Set up and operate tool room machinery efficiently.
• Ensure orderliness in the work area.
• Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform or assist in other tasks as required.

Experience:

To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent; higher-level education preferred.
• Three to five years of experience in working on and repairing tools and dies.
• Proficient troubleshooting skills are essential.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems.
• Capable of fabrication using welding or machining techniques.
• Basic electrical ability, including reading and interpreting electrical schematics (a plus).
• Proficiency in instrumentation and PLC troubleshooting and programming (a plus).
• Knowledge of metal fabrication equipment such as lathes, drill presses, or grinders for aiding in repairs.
• Experience with Stamping Press equipment is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and manuals.
• Aptitude for comprehending complex technical topics and specialized information.
• Effective time management skills to organize and complete work within given deadlines.

Pay:
From $25.00 per hour
