Description
Experienced Real Estate Paralegal wanted for small busy law office located in Kew Gardens.Must be a self-starter with the knowledge and experience to handle all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract to closing.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and prepare preclosing and final documents for closing, preserving files within the firm's computer system. Know how to collaborate closing disclosures with the lenders.
- Prepare CEMA's, 255's, Schedule A Mortgage Schedules
- Ability to fully review CEMA collateral documents
- Coordinate with parties to schedule closings
- Comfortable liaising with lenders to process mortgage loans, and provide required documentation
- Ability to read and comprehend title reports, mortgage schedules and municipal search reports, determine what documentation is required in response to those searches, and obtain the required documentation
- Interface directly with title companies and surveyors to resolve any issues or discrepancies
- Administer contract critical dates and prepare and administer closing checklists
- Coordinate federal/local filings/recordings of legal documents and track receipt relating to those filings
Required Skills:
- Specific experience with processing and closing residential mortgage transactions as a settlement agent is required
- Heavy real estate transactional purchase and sale knowledge
- Must be familiar with current real estate closing customs and procedures, including TRID, CEMA and webbased platforms
- Must be able to handle a large pipeline of loan files with mínimal oversight
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with a variety of parties inside and outside of our offices
- Excellent organization skills, detailoriented aptitude, and ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
- Flexibility to work overtime as necessary
Education / Experience:
- 3+ years of real estate transactional work experience required
- High School diploma, required
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred
***Pay: $40, $70,000.00 per year
