Description
Decarbonization and Engineering Manager
(This is not for an immediate hire)
Position Title: Decarbonization and Engineering Manager
Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week, Monday - Friday)
Reporting Location: Carlsbad, CA
Salary Range: $85,000 - $90,000/year
Verdani Partners is seeking a highly motivated Decarbonization and Engineering Manager to join our team. To start, this role will split time between the Engineering team (40%) and the Decarbonization team (60%), with a plan to transition to full-time Decarbonization work by EOY 2024. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong skills in data analysis, interpersonal communication, and time management. The successful candidate will work directly with corporate sustainability team members and Decarbonization team members to develop and implement environment, social, and governance (ESG) strategies and initiatives, as well as decarbonization initiatives, on behalf of Verdani's global commercial real estate clients.
Primary responsibilities for this position include managing the development and completion of decarbonization analyses for multiple clients using Verdani's proprietary CRREM-aligned tool, supporting the creation of decarbonization roadmaps and/or strategic plans on behalf of our clients, and completing industry research on cutting edge best practices around decarbonization that are aligned with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP). Additional duties for this position include completing technical audit report reviews, supporting the completion of Scope 3 materiality assessments and/or Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions inventories, conducting electrification and/or offsite renewable energy program analyses on behalf of clients, and may include performing on-site solar feasibility studies, or energy/ decarbonization audits. Engineering team responsibilities include supervising large-scale data management, environmental performance data analysis (energy, water, greenhouse gas emissions, waste), and support with various sustainability reporting frameworks. The person in this role shall be an internal subject matter expert (SME) on decarbonization topics on behalf of our team.
This role requires cross-functional team collaboration and task delegation with client account team members internal to Verdani Partners. This position also requires coordination directly with clients. Therefore, applicants must have excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills to clearly explain the strategies, benefits, risks, and opportunities of the projects and plans being implemented. The position involves producing high-quality reports inclusive of data analysis and assessments, concise narratives, tables, charts, and infographics using Microsoft Office suite products and Adobe Acrobat Pro. This position also requires daily meetings with team members, clients, and property managers either in person or via videoconferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meeting, or WebEx, to name a few.
