The Transportation Specialist position consists of transporting members ranging from birth up to age 18, and on occasion, members who may be over the age of 18, to and from appointments and visits with their families.

Transportation occurs between the hours of 7:
00am to 8:
00pm within, but not limited to, Pima County. Transportation of members may occur on the weekends.

In addition, this position will also help within the office with other clerical and administrative duties to be assigned when transportation of members is not necessary or being conducted.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Maintain good professional relationship with our members, state agency employees, case managers, therapist, foster parents and natural parents, providing quality customer service to all persons.
  • Keep information confidential and adheres to all program, operational, and personnel policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Assure that car seats and/or seat belts are in proper working condition, cleaned and available, as necessary, to ensure that all members are securely fastened throughout the transport.
  • Transport to and from destination safely and within time requirements.
  • Accompany all members to their destination, not leaving them unattended until the designated responsible party arrives.
  • Properly record services delivered to each member while maintaining accurate activity reports which are to be submitted to the Transportation Supervisor at the end of each day.
  • Complete mileage report on a daily basis and provide the report to the Transportation Supervisor at the end of each day.
  • Immediately verbally report to the Transportation Supervisor any unusual incidents which occurred during the transport, and followup with a written report if requested.

Requirements:


Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:


  • Must possess strong customer service skills.
  • Communicate effectively with members, therapist, foster parents and natural parents.
  • Communicate in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skills in maintaining highly confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and seek supervision appropriately.
  • Must be well organized, able to multitask, detail oriented, accurate, and able to complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Computer proficient (experienced with Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Familiarity with behavioral and mental health terminology.
  • Must be reliable, punctual and flexible to meet program requirements.
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Display cultural sensitivity and demonstrates the ability to form constructive and collaborative working relationships with others from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate in a culturally inclusive manner and being open to other people's differences.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Clean criminal background check and the ability to obtain and maintain a level one clearance card.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid, unrestricted Arizona driver's license and the willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment. Must meet minimum requirements of agency insurance carrier.
  • Employment contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background check.
  • Must be able to meet training and agency compliance requirements for the position.

Physical
requirements:


  • Must be able to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as face mask, gloves, gown, and goggles, for any amount of time necessary to provide a physical barrier to protect the employee and others.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds, such as carrying a member to and from the car to the visit and up and down the stairs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position.
  • Must be able to operate a computer, phone and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to stoop, squat, reach, stretch, ascend and descend stairs.
  • May work in an office setting.

Psychological Requirements:


  • Must be able to remain calm, nondefensive with a supportive attitude during stressful, potential crisis, and crisis situations.
  • Must be able to work in an extremely stressful environment where there are considerable mental and emotional demands.
  • Must be able to manage high volumes and unpredictability of work.
  • Must be able to manage stress in a fastpaced, unpredictable, intense setting.
  • Must be able to remain flexible and reprioritize according to the changing demands of the day.
  • Must be able to adapt to diverse cultural environments and communicate in a culturally inclusive manner.
  • Must be able to represent Easterseals Blake Foundation in a professional manner in all situations.
