    We are seeking a Threat Missile Analyst to work closely with the intelligence community (IC), US Navy acquisition community and the APL missile engineers to develop tools and capabilities to assess Navy systems against adversary technologies.

    This role will help advance the US military's understanding of threat missile capabilities and limitations, which ultimately drive the development of US military tactics and the requirements for new US systems.

    You'll be joining a group missile guidance, navigation, control, and seeker engineers and technologists who are enthusiastic about contributing to our national defense.

    As aThreat Missile Analyst, you will...

    Provide key threat expertise and intelligence insight to the development of threat missile simulations based on available intelligence data in a time-relevant manner.

    Partner with IC organizations including the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) and the National Air and Space Intelligence center (NASIC) to obtain data on threat systems of interest that can be used to benchmark the threat models and simulations in order to analyze system performance bounds.

    Collaborate with the IC to streamline and conduct the validation process for threat models and simulations to support developmental and operational testing of US Navy programs.

    Partner with IC organizations to develop validation strategies for threat models and simulations to advise requirements and design activities for US Navy programs.

    Partner with IC organizations to explore solutions for V&V of capability-based threat models.

    Qualifications

    You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
    Possess a BS degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field.

    Have 10+ years of experience performing modeling, simulation and analysis of missile avionics systems including one or more of the following major missile subsystems: Guidance, Navigation, Control, Seekers, Target Trackers, and/or Weapon Data Links.

    Demonstrated experience working within or closely collaborating with the IC, including experience writing or using IC products such as: threat assessments, requests for information (RFIs), threat system models, and similar products.

    Are familiar with verification, validation and accreditation processes.
    Have proficiency with one or more of the following programming languages: C++, Java or Python.
    Possess strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
    Hold an active TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility security clearance.

    If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information.

    Possess a MS or PhD in a related technical field.
    Have a breadth of knowledge across multiple missile avionics technical domains.
    Have served as a technical lead on missile avionics MS&A projects.
    Have performed a significant technical role in the VV&A of one or more large software project.

    As part of a technically diverse team, have developed missile subsystem models and integrated them into a six degree of freedom (6dof) missile simulation.
