    Description

    Job Summary:

    Within Chase Brexton Health Care, the job entails providing direct, integrated co-occurring behavioral health and substance use services to support primary care and behavioral health services.

    Therapists in Behavioral Health carry a caseload, offering therapeutic support tailored to individuals' life needs.


    Major Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Analytical and Critical Thinking
      • Conduct brief, evidence-based screenings.
      • Perform time-limited assessments.
      • Assess behavioral health and substance use needs, determining suitable clinical interventions.
      • Provide emergency assessments for patients in crisis and facilitate psychiatric hospitalization when necessary.
      • Assess discharge readiness during treatment.
    • Problem Solving and Decision Making
      • Develop integrated treatment plans.
      • Independently evaluate treatment progress and adjust planning accordingly.
    • Patient Focus
      • Offer referrals for internal and external services.
      • Engage patients and families through outreach and follow-up.
    • Communication
      • Provide consultation to medical providers and other staff to ensure coordinated care.
      • Participate in meetings and promote system changes.
      • Ensure progress notes are accessible to the care team.
    • Compliance, Policy, and Procedure
      • Document all services as per policy and professional standards.
      • Adhere to productivity standards.
    If providing supervision:
    • Demonstrate knowledge of supervision models and practices.
    • Assess risks and complete assigned tasks.
    • Use billing orders appropriately for clinical documentation.

    Workplace Computers and Equipment:
    • Utilize Electronic Health Record for integrated healthcare.

    Willingness to Learn:
    • Meet continuing education requirements.
    • Perform duties as assigned.

    Skills and Abilities:
    • Provide culturally relevant services.
    • Address disparities in healthcare access.
    • Adapt services to cultural norms and promote diversity.
    • Be familiar with open access models in mental health and healthcare.
    • Adapt to changes in the healthcare field.

    Education and/or Experience:
    Degree: Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psy D, or PhD
    Licensure Preferred: LCSW-C, LCPC, Psychologist
    Licensure Required: Maryland State License

    Preferred: Two years of outpatient mental health and/or substance use services experience with adults, adolescents, or children, particularly in a primary care setting.
