Who you are:

_**As the Department Coordinator for the Cardiac Medical Unit for Catholic Medical Center (CMC), you will be at the heart of coordinating clerical and facilities functions, playing a vital role in the seamless operation of our department.


This is a fully benefitted 32 hour/week position Monday - Friday, 3:00pm-11:00pm and every other weekend.
Shift differential applies.

_ What you'll do:
_


  • Greet visitors warmly, discern the nature and purpose of their visit, and direct them to the appropriate individual or area.
  • Answer and screen incoming calls, directing callers or taking messages to ensure effective communication.
  • Coordinate designated aspects of the admission and discharge process, including preregistration, demographic and insurance verification.
  • Assist Providers with order entry and information, contributing to a smooth workflow.
  • Organize and maintain a meticulous filing system for all necessary hospital forms, records, and log books.
  • Coordinate the ordering and/or return of supplies, ensuring the smooth functioning of the stockroom.
  • Collaborate on the repair and upkeep of medical and unit equipment with the clinical engineering and facilities department.
  • Assist in the orientation of department coordinators.
  • Dialogue with the Kronos staffing coordinators and charge nurses in regards to staffing needs.
  • Work closely with the Leadership team to identify and implement changes for continuous quality improvement.
  • Assist in transporting/obtaining medication, specimens, blood products, and patient care supplies as needed.

What you'll bring:
_**- Exceptional people skills and a dedication to providing outstanding customer service.

  • Preferred clerical experience that showcases your organizational prowess.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is advantageous.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent educational background.
